Houston (CBS Houston) – According to multiple reports Marcus Camby has chosen to sign with the Rockets.
The 16-year NBA veteran had narrowed his choices to the Bulls and the Rockets before deciding to come home (Camby is a Pearland resident). At 39, Camby will play the voice of veteran leader in the locker room much like Dikembe Mutombo did for many years. The move shouldn’t affect the status of Omer Asik, who has voiced his displeasure about playing behind Dwight Howard.
Last season in New York, Camby averaged 10 minutes, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.8 points per game. He was limited to just 24 games.
