Houston (CBS Houston) – Editor’s Note: Camp Confidential will feature daily news and notes throughout Texans training camp.
The Texans split practice 50/50 between the bubble and outside Saturday morning. Here’s what you need to know:
>>>The right tackle position remains in flux. Derek Newton is getting about 50 percent of the reps as he works back from injury. Brennan Williams is only able to participate in individual drills. As a result rookie david Quessenberry has been getting a lot of reps and has handled them well.
“The people are on the roster to handle our situation, the problem is they have missed a lot of time” said Kubiak
>>>Arian Foster didn’t practice for the second straight day. He should be ready to go in the next couple of days.
>>>The Texans will put the pads on for the first time tomorrow.
“That’s when the game changes” said Kubiak.
>>>Brooks Reed went through a full practice. Reed has been dealing with a sore foot but it’s nothing serious.
>>>Sam Montgomery did not practice a day after tweaking his right ankle. “We thought he could go but he ended up not going.” said Kubiak
>>>Tight End Garrett Graham did return to the Texans’ facility today. He hopes to practice tomorrow.
>>>T.J. Yates got to run 7 on 7 with the first teamers for the majority of the time. Schaub was given some reps off. Don’t read into this too much, Kubiak likes to bring his veterans along slowly.
>>>Rookie tackle Nick Mondek missed practice with an injury.
