HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, an anonymous tip from a user of the iWatchHarrisCounty free smart phone app led to the revelation and destruction of a marijuana field in south Harris County near Highway 288 this week.

Sheriff’s deputies, alongside Baytown and South Houston police (collectively members of the Harris County Narcotic Task Force), took note of plants and cultivation materials throughout the property on Tuesday. Although no suspects were present during their discovery, the illegal farm remains under investigation.

HCSO officials urge Harris County residents to report illegal activities and endeavors with their free mobile downloadable app.

The app allows the public to report suspicious, fraudulent and illegal activity in an anonymous manner. Click here to view and download the app.
