HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to reports, a 10-year-old boy was shot while he slept in his southwest Houston residence.
According to reports, the shooting happened at the Summer Crossing apartment complex on Beechnut near Wilcrest Monday evening.
Additional reports indicate that homicide detectives stated that least one of those bullets went through the wall of one of the apartments and hit the young boy while he was sleeping.
An unknown suspect or suspects fired at least two shots into the front window of a unit behind the victim’s apartment, with one of those bullets going through the wall of the apartment where the child was sleeping.
The child was rushed to Texas Children’s Hospital and was listed in stable condition. He is expected to survive.
Authorities have no suspects in custody and they continue their investigation of the case.
