HOUSTON (CBS Houston) As the city of Houston’s ongoing commitment to the revitalization of neighborhoods that were once an eyesore, dangerous and full of dilapidated buildings, the office of Mayor Annise Parker announced that Mayor Parker will unveil sixteen newly constructed homes for low-to moderate-income families.
“The houses are the final piece of an $11 million revitalization initiative targeting the historic neighborhoods of Sunnyside and South Union,”according to officials with the city of Houston. “The revitalization initiative included the demolition of blighted properties and the renovation of a 158-unit apartment community. Mayor Parker will present homeowners with keys to their new homes.”
The unveiling of the new homes will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m.
