Houston-(CBS Houston) The Rockets have signed former Cavalier forward Omri Casspi to a two-year, $2 million deal.
The 6-9, 225, Israeli forward is a career 35% three-point shooter who can play the three or the four. His length and shooting will help the Rockets space the floor for Dwight Howard.
Casspi was the first ever Israeli born first round pick (23rd in 2009) and has career averages of 7.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1 assist.
Prior to playing in the NBA, Casspi played for Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League. He finished fourth in voting for the 2008-09 FIBA European Young Men’s Player of the Year Award behind fellow NBA players Ricky Rubio, Danilo Gallinari and Kosta Koufos.
