HPD Arrests Man Suspected Of Killing HFD Inspector
HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to HPD, charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man on Monday.
The suspect, 46-yar-old Alain Delon Bell has been charged with the murder of David Earl Stoneham, 55.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant officials offered the following account of the crime:
“Mr. Stoneham pulled his vehicle into the driveway of his residence on West Troy. His teenage daughter was with him in the car when she exited the vehicle and walked to the garage. While the daughter was in the garage, she said her father remained at the vehicle, going through some things in the car. The daughter stated she heard what sounded like someone racking a shotgun and looked toward the street. She saw her father (Stoneham) and her stepfather (Bell) struggling with each other. The girl stated her stepfather pointed a shotgun toward her father and fired it once, striking him in the chest. When her father fell to the ground, the girl said her stepfather shot her father again in the chest. She said her stepfather then quickly walked to his black Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck parked a couple of houses down the street, got inside the truck and drove away.”
On Tuesday, HPD officers located Bell driving on the South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West). “Bell fled from police officers for a short distance before being taken into custody without further incident,” added HPD officials.
David Stoneham was reportedly a 30-year veteran with HFD and worked as an inspector.
