HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A woman was found murdered in her home Wednesday morning and her teen soon was taken in for questioning by authorities.
Reports indicate that the murder happened just after 3 a.m. on Verano right off the East Freeway. According to authorities, the woman was stabbed multiple times in her bed.
Early Wednesday morning, authorities detained the woman’s 15-year-old son.
There was no other information released at the time of this report. CBS Houston will continue to follow developments in this story as they become available.
Police say a 15-year-old Houston-area boy who was questioned after his mother was found fatally stabbed in her bed has been detained on a murder charge.
San Jacinto police initially said several relatives were at the house early Wednesday when the attack happened. Investigators later said the teen apparently was home alone with his 31-year-old mother and the pair had argued Tuesday night.
Police Chief Joe Ayala says the boy allegedly telephoned his uncle and aunt following the attack. Ayala says the victim, whose name wasn’t immediately released, was stabbed at least 10 times.
Further details on the juvenile weren’t immediately released. Police are trying to determine what led to the initial argument.
