HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A statewide contest will offer one lucky Texan the chance to name the shuttle replica which will be featured at Space Center Houston.

The Name the Shuttle contest began at noon on Independence Day.

The contest is one in which officials at the space center are asking residents from Texas to submit ideas for a name for the the high-fidelity shuttle replica. According to officials close to the endeavor, they are looking for those Texans with a “can-do spirit”, creativity, ingenuity and fortitude.

The requirement is that contestants have to live in Texas, with the winner of the contest earning a trip to the space center, a hotel stay, and the name they created being on the shuttle. The winner will also be recognized as the one Texan who named the replica. Click here to learn more and watch related video below!
