HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Houston Police Homicide detectives found a body in southeast Houston on Friday.

According to officials, the discovery was made just before 8 a.m.

In addition to the body found, police found an abandoned truck along the Sims Bayou in the 3400 block of Airport Boulevard. Several moments later, the burned body was discovered in a wooded area approximately 100 yards away from the truck.

Additional details indicated that the body had been assaulted and burned. Investigators who are working to identify the body, described the victim as a black man in his 30s.

There was no other information released at the time of this report.
