HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Officials with the Houston Police Department arrested a suspect and charged him in the fatal shooting of a man over two decades ago.
The suspect, Rosa San Miguel Aguilar 67, was charged with murder; she is accused in the killing of Gregorio Cardoza, 36.
HPD Homicide Division officials provided additional details of the crime: “Mr. Cardoza was found deceased inside his residence about 9:50 a.m. on February 23, 1990. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. A preliminary investigation identified his live-in girlfriend, Aguilar, as the suspect in this case. Shortly after the murder, Aguilar fled to Peru. On December 12, 2012, Aguilar was taken into custody in Peru by members of the United States Marshal’s Office. Aguilar was returned to Houston on Wednesday (June 19) and admitted to HPD homicide investigators her role in Cardoza’s death.”
