HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The Southern Baptist Convention is preparing for its annual meeting and this year that meeting will be held in Houston.

As the organization contemplates a very different cultural and political landscape, the meeting of the nation’s largest Protestant denomination is scheduled to take place Tuesday and Wednesday at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Additional reports further indicate that the organization’s agenda of resolutions isn’t set yet, but one top leader expects there to be a resolution declaring the threat to religious liberty that is being posed by policies on contraceptive care and birth control. Gays serving in the military is also a topic that is said to be one that will garner intense and layered discussion during the annual meeting.

With nearly 16 million members as of 2012, the SBC is the second largest Christian body in the United States, after the Catholic Church.
