Houston Area Breweries Honoring Fallen Houston Firefighters Tuesday Night
Last Friday, Captain EMT Matthew Renaud, 35, of Station 51; Firefighter EMT Robert Garner, 29, of Station 68; Probationary Firefighter Anne Sullivan, 24, of Station 68; and Engineer Operator EMT Robert Bebee, 41, of Station 51 fell in the line of duty in a massive 5-alarm fire at the Southwest Inn on the Southwest Freeway near Hilcroft.
Tonight, two Houston area breweries are raising funds for the firefighters and their families who were affected by the blaze. Ronnie Crocker of the Houston Chronicle (Beer TX) announced he received a message from Dan Keeney of Saint Arnold Brewing Company stating the brewery “will hold an impromptu fundraiser tonight in coordination with Houston Fire Department to raise funds for the firefighters who were seriously injured in Friday’s tragic fire.”
The fundraiser is planned from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Entry is $10 with all monies raised going to aid the firefighters who were injured. Saint Arnold Brewing Co. is located at 2000 Lyons Ave Houston, TX 77020
