Ninth Annual ‘Impact A Hero, Hall of Fame Gala’ Celebrates Human Spirit Of Many
HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The “Ninth Annual Impact A Hero, Hall of Fame Gala Dinner: Diamonds & Denim” was held Friday May 19th in which the severely wounded heroes injured in the post 9/11 combat and their families were honored.
This year’s honorees consisted of more than 50 of the nation’s “Wounded Heroes & Family Members”.
The star-studded event featured: VIP Registration a reception and silent auction, a live auction, a “Partner of the Year”, the presentation to Schlumberger and Hall of Fame Inductions and other festive and fun moments commemorating the selfless efforts triumphant human spirit of many. KPRC “Local 2’s” Sports Director Randy McIlvoy served as Master of Ceremonies and the following Hall of Fame Inductees included: Army Sergeant Ken Kalish, Army Chief Warrant Officer Three S. Allen Hartley, Chris Myers, Houston Texans, Marine Sergeant Byron Norwood, KIA and Army Staff Sergeant John Daniel Shannon.
The evening capped a plethora of events that were held during the “Impact A Hero Weekend”; it’s a weekend that allows Houstonians an opportunity to join national celebrities in saying “thank you” to the nation’s severely wounded servicemen and women. Their bravery, inspiration and dedication is placed in the forefront for all to see and celebrate.
According to information obtained from SportsRadio 610, “Impact Player Partners is a non-partisan 501 (c) (3) organization consisting of individuals and corporations dedicated to providing emotional and financial support for our severely wounded or disabled veterans injured in the post 9/11 combat and their families.”
