Reporting Britt Hoffman
The past few years during the “craft beer revolution” we’ve seen everything from super high alcohol content (ABV), barrel aged stouts, extreme IBU (International Bitterness Units) measurement with the hop craze, fruit infused brews, and even bacon flavored beer.
One local brewery, Karbach Brewing Co., who has been in the thick of all of the afore-mentioned stylistic trends with the likes if Rodeo Clown, Bodacious, Krunkin Punkin, and this week’s release of Hop Delusion (100+ IBUs) on the 28th. This past week they went back to basics with a low ABV (4.7%) Kolsch style brew as their Summer Seasonal.
Love Street is tribute to Houston’s original music hotspot from the 1960s where up and coming musicians would gather to play and entertain. It became a place of social influence and a “state of mind” as you’ll read on the back if a Love Street can. With a clean, crisp, and well-balanced drinking experience, Love Street is extremely sessionable.
Karbach aims to create their own state of mind as this brew is designed for one thing…pure enjoyment. They’ve certainly captured the feel of summer in a can.
This Memorial Day we remember fallen heroes but it also marks the beginning of summer. Enjoying an ice-cold Karbach Love Street definitely is a great way celebrate those who fell in the service of our country and to begin and maintain that summer state of mind.
