HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Boeing’s Dreamliner 787 will make its return to the skies Monday in the United States, with a flight from Houston to Chicago scheduled on Monday.
Battery problems grounded the aircraft earlier this year. In fact, the 787 Dreamliner had several battery-related fires.
With a redesigned battery system, the plane is set to resume operations this week. Monday’s flight from Bush IAH airport will be the first time Dreamliner will fly with passengers since its grounding.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, mid-size wide-body aircraft that features twin-engines.
It is a jet airliner developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes and can seat between 210 to 290 passengers.
