HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A weekend car crash killed a mom and injured her teenage son in Montgomery County and now authorities are looking for the individuals responsible for the fatal accident.

The crash was reported shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday and took place on Hardin Store Road, according to officials. Upon arrival, rescuers found Aurora Garcia, 49, dead in the front seat of her Toyota Corolla. Her teenage son was critically injured.

Additional reports state that Garcia’s Toyota was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck, with two men inside. Both of the suspects ran away, leaving the truck behind.

Texas Department of Public Safety officials also stated that the suspects were speeding westbound and failed to negotiate a curve. As a result, they crashed into Garcia’s car.

Authorities remained at the scene of the accident for nearly five hours, setting up perimeters as they searched for the suspects.

Anyone with information about the accident is being urged to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
