HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to police, a man driving a pickup truck was shot in the head, causing him to crash his vehicle into a home in southeast Houston.

The Houston Police Department stated that the shooting happened around 11 p.m. Thursday as the victim was driving his pickup truck on Pease Street near Napoleon Street.

Additional reports indicate that after the victim was shot, his driving speed increased and he crashed into the corner of a home. Although an occupant was inside of the home, that occupant sustained no injuries as a result of the crash.

The man who was shot was then rushed to Ben Taub Hospital; he is expected to survive.

As investigators piece details together of the incident, they were not able to locate a shooting suspect.
