HOUSTON (CBS Houston) In an announcement made Wednesday,not only did the Houston Texans sign free agent RB Deji Karim earlier this week, but they also signed C. Tyler Horn. The Texans also released RB George Winn and T. Dann O’Neill.
“Both Karim and Horn attended the Texans rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis from May 10-12. Karim, who was drafted in the sixth round by Jacksonville in 2010, has played in 26 games in his career,” as stated from officials in a release given to SportsRadio 610. “The former Southern Illinois standout played for Jacksonville for two seasons before playing in three games for Indianapolis last season.”
Additional reports stated that Karim has rushed for 290 yards on 98 yards carries and caught 17 passes for 130 yards in his career. “As a kickoff returner, Karim has totaled 2,228 yards on 86 returns and had a 101-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against the Texans last year as a member of the Colts,” stated officials.
Horn, who was signed out of the University of Miami as a free agent by Atlanta in 2012, spend nine weeks of last season on the Tennessee Titans practice squad.
“Both Winn and O’Neill signed with the Texans on May 10 as undrafted college free agents,” added officials.
