HOUSTON (CBS Houston) On Thursday, a website stated that Houston Texans star J.J. Watt was “seriously hurt” in a car wreck. The information was false and made Watt the latest celebrity facing an Internet hoax.

The site which was not identified at the time of this report, posted a story Thursday afternoon saying the Texans defensive end broke both of his legs in a car crash in Miami.

After Texans officials got hold of the rumor, they squashed the story stating that Watt wasn’t even in Miami on Thursday.

Watt even took to his Twitter page to assure fans he was just fine:

Watt reportedly called the false report “sad”.
