HOUSTON (CBS Houston) - Sam Montgomery suffered tightness in his lower back during the first day of the Texans’ rookie mini-camp.  The outside linebacker, a third-round draft pick out of LSU, had to leave towards the end of practice on Friday.

“Very good day, fast-paced. (I) learned so much, lot of stuff being thrown in.  Gotta get down,” Montgomery said of his first day of mini-camp.

Coach Gary Kubiak was not concerned and attributed it to the rookie adjusting to playing on turf.

Texans rookie mini-camp will continue through May 12.
