HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the body of a woman being found inside of a southwest Houston apartment.

The woman’s body was found Wednesday at the Westpoint Apartments on Lazy Hollow and Westheimer.

Additional reports indicate that officers responded to the unit shortly after 11 a.m. A grandmother become worried because she hadn’t heard from her granddaughter in days. So she went to her granddaughter’s apartment and made the gruesome discovery.

As investigators work to determine the cause of the woman’s death, they were able to determine that there was no forced entry into the apartment.

Officials identified the victim as a 35-year-old yoga instructor, who had not lived at the complex very long.

Homicide detectives believe the woman had been dead for a few days before her body had been discovered.

Anyone with information about this case is being urged to call the Houston Police Department.
