UPDATE: Dangerous Fugitive Found

CICELY MITCHELL, CBS Houston

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitives Task Force (GCVOFT) are asking for the public’s help in locating a fugitive named Joshua World.

“World, 29, fled from police Sunday evening as members of the GCVOFT were trying to serve a warrant for his arrest at his League City apartment,” added authorities with the HCSO. “World is wanted for an aggravated assault case by the Houston Police Department.”

Authorities added that while fleeing in his vehicle, World shot at police and and a chase ensued. No one was injured. “His car was later found abandoned at Bay Area Boulevard and Glen West,” stated the HCSO.

Officials warn that World is considered very dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers Houston or send a tip to iWatchHarrisCounty.

Members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitives Task Force tracked down wanted fugitive Joshua World to a vacant home located in the 2600 block of Heritage Colony in southeast Harris County Monday afternoon.

“Officers surrounded the home. Suspect World then shot himself in the head. He died at the scene,” stated officials. “No law enforcement officers were injured,” added officials.
