HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The richness and vibrancy of the animal kingdom comes alive at the Houston Zoo and the “African Forest Safari” will be no exception.
The public is invited to partake of Photo Day at the Houston Zoo featuring animals that would be found on an African safari.
“Giraffes, rhinos and chimps are in focus for an African Forest safari during Photo Day at the Houston from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013,” stated officials from the Houston Zoo. “Whether you’re an established photographer or looking to try a Zoo experience like no other, this is one event you don’t want to miss.”
According to officials at the Houston Zoo, many of the animals are at their “photo best” during the early morning hours. “During Photo Day at the Houston Zoo these once-in-a-lifetime moments will be yours to capture,” added the Houston Zoo.
Photo Day Ticket holders are not only invited to a continental breakfast, but animal enrichment photo opportunities with giraffes, rhinos and other wildlife as well as an opportunity to take photographs of the Zoo’s grounds and animal exhibits in the morning light before the Zoo opens to the public, are also apart of the festivities.
While walk-up registration is available at 7 a.m. on the day of the event, tickets can be purchased in advance by clicking here. “Photo Day is a rain or shine event,” added officials with the Houston Zoo.
