Man Fatally Shot Before Soccer Game

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A man who was fatally shot late Monday died from his injuries after someone opened fire on a group of people who were preparing to play a soccer game.

The shooting took place in southwest Houston, shortly before 9 p.m. in the 7000 block of Bissonnet Street near Larkwood Drive, in southwest Houston, as stated by the Houston Police Department.

Eyewitness accounts stated that a dark four door sedan pulled up to the Oaks on Bissonnet apartments and then someone inside the car rolled down a window and opened fire on the group of men.

After several rounds of gunfire were fired, one was was hit and died at the scene.

Police believe that the man was not being sought after and was just an innocent bystander. Authorities continue their investigation into the case and seek the suspect or suspects responsible for the crime. Anyone with information that can help officials in their investigation is asked to call HPD or Crime Stoppers.
