HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in a robbery that took place on Beechnut just before 3 p.m. on January 3, 2013.

According to HPD: the suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 23 to 25 years of age, about 5 feet 2 to 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160 pounds with black hair.

“He was wearing a red T-shirt, black baseball cap and a blue jean jacket,” added officials.

In addition to the robbery suspect, HPD is also seeking what they are referring to as “a person of interest” in this case, described only as a Hispanic male who was dressed in all black.

HPD officials provide additional details of the crime: “The suspect entered the La Hacienda meat market at 9652 Beechnut. He loitered around the store until several customers inside had left. Once the business was fairly empty, the suspect approached the front counter, confronted the employee and, at gunpoint, demanded money from the cash registers. The suspect then exited the store, got into a brown minivan of unknown make or model and fled the scene.”

Anyone with information in this case, the identities of the wanted suspect or the person of interest are being asked to contact the HPD Robbery Division at 713-308-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
