Officers, SWAT Called To Home


HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to officials, just before the 4 a.m. hour on Monday, officers were called to a home in Montrose where a man allegedly pointed a weapon and barricaded himself inside of a home.

Houston Police stated that the incident happened around 3:45 a.m. Officers were called to a home on Pierce and Montrose.

Upon arrival, officers found a  man allegedly pointing a weapon toward them as he barricaded himself inside of the home.

A SWAT team arrived after 4 a.m. and made attempts to negotiate with the man.

There were no other details released at the time of this report; CBS Houston will continue to provide updates on the situation as they become available.

***UPDATE*** 6:37 a.m., EST

Police say an armed man who barricaded himself in a Montrose area home and pointed a weapon at them surrendered peacefully early Monday morning.

Houston police were called to the home shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.

The man was taken into custody and officials continue their investigation into the incident.
