HOUSTON (CBS Houston) -  The New Orleans Saints select Texans Longhorns safety Kenny Vaccaro with the 15th overall pick. Considered the best free safety coming into the 2013 NFL Draft, he was the first one off the board.

Vaccaro, a 6-1 and 218-pound senior, is from Brownwood, Texas.  As a junior, he earned All-Big 12 Honors but decided to stay at Texas for his senior year when the Longhorns went to the Alamo Bowl, defeating Oregon State 31-27.  Vaccaro led Texas with 107 tackles his senior year which also included two intercepted passes, and two forced fumbles, earning him his second all-team conference honors.  Vaccaro had five career interceptions in 51 games at Texas.
