Man Shot After Posting Ad For Vehicle Online

CICELY MITCHELL, CBS Houston

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A man attempting to sell a vehicle and posting the ad of the on the Internet was attacked and shot in the chest Thursday night in the parking lot of a popular restaurant located in northeast Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened at the Flamingo Chill restaurant on Airline Drive at about 9:30 p.m. Officials state that the owner of the Ford F-150 truck posted an ad on Craigslist for the truck. The victim was contacted by someone online and they both agreed to meet to look at the vehicle.

During the meeting and upon the gentlemen discussing the truck, two suspects pulled out a weapon and shot the truck owner once in the chest area. The then suspects fled in the owner’s truck. Police continue their search for them.

The victim was rushed to Ben Taub, where he was listed in critical condition. As authorities continue their search for the suspects, they are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Houston Police or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
