HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A teacher at Liberty High School is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student and faces charges.

The nature of the inappropriate relationship was not disclosed at the time of this report.

Reports indicate that just before the midnight hour on Tuesday, the Liberty Police Department arrested 29-year-old Valerie Celeste Moore.

Moore who is charged with improper relationship between educator and student, was placed under a bond for the second degree felony at $25,000.

The allegations against Moore resulted in unpaid administrative leave, effective immediately, according to the Liberty Independent School District. She was hired by the school back in February.

School officials released the following statement about the accusation against Moore: “The District does not condone and will not tolerate conduct of this nature, or any inappropriate conduct with students. We have taken swift and serious employment action in this matter. … The safety of every LISD student is the District’s highest priority. The alleged conduct of Moore is shocking and reprehensible, and will never be tolerated in our school district. The alleged conduct violates the trust that our children and our community place in our educators every day. The District will take every measure available to aggressively address this situation.”
