HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that took place in the 4600 block of Pardee just after 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday and are asking for the public’s help as they piece together details of the incident.

According to HPD officials, the 17-year-old male victim died at the scene; his identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes gave further details of the accident: “The driver of a white Hyundai XG300 was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Pardee and failed to stay in his lane. The Hyundai then struck a wooden light pole, a fence and a residence at 4606 Pardee. The victim (rear passenger) died at the scene. The front passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to survive. The driver fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.”

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the wanted driver is being asked to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065.
