Second Boston Marathon Casualty Identified
HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The second causality in the Boston Marathon bombings has been identified. Initial reports indicated that the victim’s father was in shock that his child was killed.
The victim was identified as 29-year-old from Medford, Massachusetts resident Krystle M. Campbell. Her father William A. Campbell Jr., told media outlets that his daughter was a “loveable girl.”
Additional reports indicate that Campbell was at the finish line with a friend to cheer on her friend’s boyfriend, who was running the race. Her friend was also severely injured.
More than 150 individuals were hurt as a result of the explosion.
The other identified victim, eight-year-old Martin Richard, was at the marathon to cheer his father on. Of the two explosions that went off on Monday, it was the second blast killed him. His mother was hospitalized and and his six-year-old sister lost a leg as a result of the blasts.
