Police Investigate Death At NASCAR Race

CICELY MITCHELL, CBS Houston

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Authorities in Fort Worth are investigating after a man reportedly died of a “self-inflicted injury” following a verbal altercation Saturday night.

The incident happened within the infield during a NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway. The man was believed to be around 40. According to officials, the man’s death happened near or at the end of the Sprint Cup race at the Texas Motor Speedway.

At the time of this report, it was not clear how the man died, or his relationship with others involved in the altercation. Additional reports indicated that police blocked off an area of the infield near Turn 3. Investigators made a vehicle parked in the area apart of their investigation.
