Amber Alert Cancelled; Girl Found In Indiana

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) An Amber Alert which was activated for a Cedar Hill, Texas girl has been cancelled; the teen was found in Indiana.

Fourteen-year-old Sommer Brown was found safe in Indianapolis, Indiana early Sunday morning. Her non-custodial mother, Lisa Brown, was arrested.

According to Cedar Hill police, an Indianapolis officer working patrol spotted Brown’s 2006 Ford Expedition around 2 a.m. parked behind a business in that city. The officer was able to identify the vehicle, despite the fact that the license plates had been removed from the SUV.

The alert for Sommer Brown was issued Friday afternoon after she disappeared. Police feared she was in “grave and immediate danger.” Additional reports indicated that Lisa Brown had a history of abusive behavior.
