HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Houston police officers found a man laying in the street, in southeast Houston  on Safeguard near Holloway, next to a vehicle. He had been shot three times, with two gunshots to his head.

According to officials, the shooting happened just before the stroke of midnight Friday. Neighbors heard gunshots and called 911. Emergency crews arrived and found the man was still alive, lying in the street in front of his grandmother’s house. He was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition.

As police piece together details of the incident, they are looking for suspects. They did learn of a white sedan that was seen circling the neighborhood shortly before the shooting.

In fact, authorities from HPD said that the vehicle was seen making a loop prior to coming down Safeguard and approaching the victim. It was then that shots rang out from that car, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
