HOUSTON (CBS Houston) – Cincinnati released 29-year old cornerback Jason Allen Wednesday. Allen played 23 regular season games with Houston from late 2010 through the 2011 season, and came away with seven interceptions during that time.

The Bengals have addressed their needs at cornerback with the recent re-signings of corners Terence Newman and Adam Jones.  Allen, who played only four games last season due to injuries, was due $3 million base salary this season.  The former first-round pick played only one season with the Bengals despite signing a two-year contract.
