Sugar Land Officers Fatally Shoot Man During Confrontation

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) An officer-involved shooting In Sugar Land left a man dead Sunday. It is believed that the man was arguing with his parents moments before the fatal shooting.

The incident happened at a home located on Lake Field Boulevard near Grand Cayman Parkway around 9 p.m.

The 31-year-old man was arguing with his parents and at some point during the argument, he apparently made some threats towards them; as a result, his parents called 911.

When officers arrived at the Sugar Land home, the man came outside, armed with a rife. He pointed that rifle at officers despite being instructed to drop the weapon. Upon the man’s defiance of the demands of authorities, police then opened fire and fatally shot the man.

At the time of this report, it was not clear how many officers were involved in the fatal shooting.

Sugar Land authorities continue their investigation into the case.
