HOUSTON (CBS Houston) An officer-involved shooting In Sugar Land left a man dead Sunday. It is believed that the man was arguing with his parents moments before the fatal shooting.

The incident happened at a home located on Lake Field Boulevard near Grand Cayman Parkway around 9 p.m.

The 31-year-old man was arguing with his parents and at some point during the argument, he apparently made some threats towards them; as a result, his parents called 911.

When officers arrived at the Sugar Land home, the man came outside, armed with a rife. He pointed that rifle at officers despite being instructed to drop the weapon. Upon the man’s defiance of the demands of authorities, police then opened fire and fatally shot the man.
