Houston (CBS Houston) - J.J. Watt‘s elbow injury from last year’s training camp may have been worse than it originally appeared.  Watt had a breakout performance all while wearing a brace on his left elbow.  In fact, it served as the only reminder that he had ever been hurt.

Watt never missed a regular season game due to his injury, but he admitted it took time to heal.

“In the beginning it definitely affected me.  All the ligaments in there were torn.  They were all gone.  They had to have time to recover and regroup so obviously I was not at full strength.”

When asked about the injury, Watt said he hoped to play without the brace next season and that he hopes to stay 100-percent healthy.
