HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A teenager was struck by a vehicle and killed while skateboarding to school Thursday morning. According to officials, the accident happened in the 800 block of Gulf Bank around 6:30 a.m.

The teen was skateboarding while on his way to school. The 15-year-old who was a student at Aldine High School, was skateboarding near the middle of the road when he was then hit by a female motorist.

According to the woman, she was not able to see the teen due to the darkness outside. She tried to swerve to avoid him, but missed. As a result, her car landed in a ditch after the impact.

Harris County Sheriff’s Officials continue their investigation of the accident.
