HOUSTON (AP) — A former youth minister at a Houston-area church has been sentenced to five years in prison for having sex with a 16-year-old girl.

A judge in Houston sentenced 34-year-old Chad Foster of Cypress. Foster earlier pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor.

Investigators say Foster met the girl in 2011 when he worked at Community of Faith Church. The teen told investigators that Foster texted her numerous times and also told her not to tell anyone that the pair had a sexual relationship. Foster later resigned from the church.

Foster last summer reached a plea agreement and was sentenced Monday in Houston.
