HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A Montgomery County escapee was captured in north Harris County Thursday after being on the run for several days.
Britt Privatte was spotted in a wooded area off the North Freeway at Cypresswood in the early morning hours of Thursday and was captured. He had originally escaped from the Montgomery County Jail earlier this month.
The Montgomery County SWAT team officers chased Privatte, a convicted bank robber, down and took him into custody. He had been on the run since March 17 after scaling a 20 foot high wall in the Montgomery County jail’s recreation yard, receiving assistance from other inmates for the jailbreak.
After his escape, officials followed up on several possible sightings of Privatte. Deputies combed an area around the River Plantation Subdivision, where a woman said she saw the 40-year-old inside her home on Tuesday afternoon.
Privatte who was transported back to Montgomery County jail, will likely face additional charges as well as jail time added on to his original sentence for his escape.
