The Houston Texans have signed unrestricted free agent FB Greg Jones, it was announced today. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Jones is entering his 10th season after playing the first nine years of his career with AFC South rival Jacksonville. He has also helped Jaguar running backs rush for 100 yards or more in a game 37 times and has two 100-yard performances of his own during his career.
Jones’ career totals include 270 carries for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns with 68 receptions for 437 yards and three touchdowns receiving. Used primarily as a blocker for most of his career, Jones ran for a career-high 575 yards and four touchdowns in 2005.
