HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a felon who escaped from a facility last week was captured and arrested Monday.
The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force took Sjondarien Terrell Bland into custody Monday afternoon without incident. Bland is a wanted felon who escaped from deputies last Wednesday.
In March 2012, nineteen-year-old Bland was sentenced to three years in state prison for violating his probation on the burglary charge; at that time, he was supposed to begin serving time.
In addition to his sentence, Bland pleaded guilty to unlawful carrying of a weapon which is a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail in April 2011 and was also given probation for one count of burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit theft.
Court documents indicate that he had been sought by police since at least last July when three arrest warrants were issued for bond forfeitures.
