There are many ways we can begin to save our environment without spending money. One sure way to help our earth is carpooling.

Whether it be to work or to a special outing, carpooling not only saves you money on gas by sharing a ride, but you help to cut down on pollutants being thrust in our air. Check out ways carpooling is beneficial for you and I!

1. According to a study conducted by the Sightline Institute, the average car with a single driver emits 1.10 lbs of carbon dioxide per mile. So carpooling with three passengers in the car would naturally decrease that number by one-third or only 0.37 lbs of carbon dioxide per mile.

2.Environment Canada conducted a study and found that air pollution caused by vehicular travel is linked to respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease, allergies and neurological effects. So of you and your friends choose to carpool, you helping to reduce these health risks for yourself and others.

3.In addition to being less stressed when carpooling, you are reducing your carbon footprint. According to rideshare.com, every car emits its own weight in carbon dioxide into the atmosphere annually. So consider carpooling and cutting those emissions numbers in half, or even better!
