HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Authorities are searching for Britt Chadvurn Privatte, an inmate who escaped from the Montgomery County Jail early Sunday afternoon.

According to officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, at about 1 p.m. Privatte was determined to be missing; a search for him began immediately.

Forty-year-old Privatte who was last seen in the recreation yard of the facility, should be considered armed and dangerous. It is believed that he scaled the wall and broke through the fencing to the roof.

He had been arrested by the Houston Police Department in early January, along with two other suspects in connection with a bank robbery in the Kingwood area.

Privatte is charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, escape while arrested, burglary of a habitation and order of arrest in connection with four different cases in three counties. Authorities are pleading with the public to call them with information about Privatte’s whereabouts. Tipsters can call 936-760-5800 (Option 3).
