HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A suspect surrendered to police after a high-speed chase Thursday morning, leading police through Bellaire as well as north Houston.
The chase began around 8:30 a.m. at New Castle near Bissonnett with Bellaire Police pursuing the suspect initially. During the chase, the suspect was driving an SUV, attempting to evade police. At one point, the suspect even traveled the wrong way on Pierce Elevated Street.
Soon, Houston police assisted Bellaire police in chasing the suspect in vehicles.
The chase ended within the hour, in the 8400 block of the North Freeway when the suspect got out of his SUV, put both of his hands up and knelt on the ground. The man who was not identified at the time of this report was then taken into custody. No other information was released.
