HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A fire that began in one home spread to another home just west of downtown Houston around 3:30a.m. Thursday on West Saulnier and Stanford.

Fire crews were able to contain the flames after about an hour.

Additional reports indicate that a woman used a water hose in an attempt to contain the fire. Although there were no serious injuries were reported, that woman did suffer minor burns to her hands.

As the fire spread from one home to another, it became a two-alarm blaze nearly destroying both homes.

According to firefighters, the damage to the second building was limited.
