HPD Releases Ten Most Stolen Vehicles For February

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The Houston Police Department has released the ten most stolen cars for the month of February.

HPD reminds all Houston residents to practice safety when parking a car. For example, authorities remind motorists to park in well-lit areas when possible. Also placing valuables such as compact disks, cell phones, money, wallets and other items that potential thieves would find inciting, is paramount when preventing a vehicle from being stolen.

Below is a rundown of the “Top Ten” makes of vehicles reported stolen to the Houston Police Department during the month of February 2013:

1. Chevrolet Trucks 160
2. Ford Trucks 118
3. Honda Cars 95
4. Dodge Trucks 69
5. Ford Cars 35
6. Buick Cars 29 & Toyota Cars 29
7. GMC Trucks 27
8. Chevrolet Cars 26
9. Dodge Cars 21
10. Pontiac Cars 19
