HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A couple is dead after an apparent murder-suicide. According to officials with the Houston Police Department, the incident happened just after midnight Monday at a Southeast Houston home on Calloway near Defender.
Police stated that they received a call about two people who were inside the home deceased. Investigators stated that it appears as if the couple was a husband and wife, possibly in their mid-30s.
The couple who has children together was not identified at the time of this report. Officials continue their investigation into the incident.
***UPDATE***
The couple of the apparent murder-suicide was eventually identified by authorities as Lashandra Washington, 34, and the suspect, Sharman Ford, 33 Monday afternoon. “Both of the above address, suffered gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene,” added HPD.
HPD Homicide Division Officers stated the following: “Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the man and woman shot inside a bedroom of the residence. Houston Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced them deceased. Preliminary evidence indicates an apparent murder-suicide.”
HPD continues their investigation in the case.
