HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A Spring High School assistant principal is accused of having an improper relationship with a high school student.

According to reports, the improper relationship took place last May. Spring ISD Police Department began investigating the allegations in February and the assistant principal suspected of the improper relationship was put on administrative leave when the investigation began; additional reports stated that he resigned last week. At the time of this report, the assistant principal had not been identified, pending criminal charges.

The female student with whom the assistant principal had the relationship with, is no longer at the high school.

In the statement sent to parents, Principal Ullrich provided additional information about the allegations: “The administration at Spring High School takes every allegation seriously and will conduct a thorough investigation and expose inappropriate behavior when necessary,” Ullrich stated in a letter to parents. “I want to assure you that the safety of our students is of the highest importance at Spring High School. The criminal history and references of job applicants are routinely checked before they are hired.”

CBS Radio Houston will continue to update this story as details become available.
